Ways to save time in blogworld...

I have discovered one way to save a little time, and that is to have comments e-mailed to me when they appear on my blog. Too cool! That way I'm only obsessing about checking my e-mail and not my blog, too. Any other ideas about saving a little time? I want to keep up with people, but my house is a wreck!
That brings me to another point... we finally have a closing date on our new/old house! We close on Monday and get immediate possession. We are buying the house that I grew up in - my family lived there for 19 years. My parents sold it when I was a freshman in college. Now Brad will be working with YFC in that county, so we are moving there. I need to be better at managing my time and $$ so that we can get moved! We have a lot of work to do at the new/old house and at this one. Ugh. It makes me tired to think about it. That's why I need your time-saving tips!
(It's taking me forever to write this because my poor puppy-dog Jack has been deprived of attention today, and is insisting that I play fetch with him and his Kong.)

Stephen showed me a site called bloglines.com to save me time. I was checking about 40 blogs a day to see if anyone had updated. This site will check them all and let you know what the updates are. It's the coolest!!

I'm a failure at saving time. I too have my comments e-mailed to me, but I want to SEE them for real - - - so it doesn't save me time, it only lets me know they are there.

Congratulations on getting your new/old house!

As far as time saving, I try to stay organized about what I need to get done and when. I have about 2 hours each night from the time I get home to when I need to go to bed. I've designated chores for each evening. I keep the list at work, so I can think through it before I get home.

Every night is: dinner, laundry, dishes, walk the dogs, straighten. In addition:

Monday: Bathroom and kitchen
Tuesday: Grocery shopping
Wednesday: Vacuum and mop floors
Thursday: Sort mail and dust
Friday: Catch up on anything that didn't get done or needs more attention.

I used to use a crock pot a lot. The "Fix it and Forget It" cookbook has a lot of easy recipies to toss in the crock pot for 6-8 hours. It was really nice to come home to a hot meal already made after a long day!

I think that I will steal all of Robin's ideas. They far surpass anything I have come up with at this point. (Thanks, Robin!)

Hi Kari!!! You have a beautiful family! I don't think I've seen you and Brad since you were both counselors at Teen Camp and I was an obnoxious teenager! HAHA! Great blog! Now I have another one to look at every day! =)

COngrats on the new house! Time saving...well, I stink at it-let's just be honest. I can manage my time at work, but at home...different story entirely!!
I have gotten to the point where I am OK if I haven't checked my email or my blog in awhile. It will be there when I get to it. ALthough it's SO fun to see comments, eating, sleeping, and well, I GUESS cleaning are important. Not much help sorry. Robin's idea sounds good...
